is it just me or are Essential Oils trending these days? They are popping up everywhere, even in the Target dollar spot. Say what? 🙈 But more on that in a second. So WHAT are they? EO’s are literally the lifeblood of a plant. We use oils from flowers, trees, shrubs, roots, seeds...you name it. And when these plants are carefully grown & oils harvested—they can take on the role of cheering for & supporting our body. EO’s are bb molecules that can be easily absorbed by the body—directly into our cells. Our systems then transport them all over our body WITHIN MINUTES. The oils in your starter kit can support all the systems of your body in their own unique way.
EO’s aren’t magical and we’re not saying that you should pass on meds when you need them. BUT using them on a regular basis, replacing the toxic chemicals in our home with this all natural goodness, will inevitably support our bodies so they can function better, work the way that they’re supposed to—above the wellness line. Preventative approach > paying urgent care bills. 🙌🏼
YL oils aren’t your Target Dollar Spot oils. Just sayin’.
There’s a reason you can get oils in the dollar spot and it has a whole lot to do with purity...or lack thereof. It’s SHOCKING how many companies slap “100% pure” or “all natural” or...love this now, "naturally DERIVED" on a label to boost sales, all while they contain just as many synthetic chemicals & additives as the rest. Don’t believe me, watch Stink!
YL is the ONLY company to grow their own plants from start to finish, on farms that you can visit, with stricter standards than legally required. YL is a privately owned company with no debt,
so they’re not trying to please investors—they’re just good
at what they do. 😘
All this gives us peace of mind knowing exactly what
we're putting on & in our bodies.
USING YOUR OILS AROMATICALLY
this is probably the method that 99.9% of us picture when it comes to oils and that makes sense bc sniffing + diffusing oils is v v fun. and it makes tossing those super fake + toxic scented candles much easier (here’s lookin’ at you bb&w)—yeah, i said it. so, beyond smelling good...why diffuse? here’s the reason 👉🏼 when you SMELL an oil it connects with your olfactory system which then tags your brain which then says “you’re it” to your limbic system—the emotional part of your brain. 🧠 the limbic system is killer at multitasking 👉🏼 plays a role in your emotions, behaviors, sense of smell, long-term memory, forming memories (ever notice how a smell can trigger a certain memory?), also breathing + heart rate + blood pressure. isn’t that crazy + wonderful all at the same time?! kudos, limbic system.
this is why oils can balance our emotions—as crazy as that sounds—it actually makes sense. this is why smelling oils can calm anxiety, help release tension, work through grief, help us focus, give us energy, you name it. it’s one of the easiest ways to use your oils—and most cozy. when you DIFFUSE your oils, you are dispersing all that plant goodness throughout the air. obviously you inhale it but it also cleans up your air + gives stank the boot. this is why we diffuse thieves + lemon when sickness is creeping in to purify the air from icky germs. 🦠 your diffuser is also a bb humidifier which keeps the air moist + you healthier. more on that another time. of course, diffusing also smells amazing and it’s literally your own personal candle that you can change up as often as you like. so there’s that.
USING YOUR OILS TOPICALLY
have you ever had achey muscles? or maybe a sour stomach? or maybe you just want a z-quil experience without the z-quil. guess what, there’s an oil for that. 😉 let’s chat about applying those oils topically.👇🏼
why apply oils directly? 👉🏼 because essential oils are made up of bb molecules, they can easily be absorbed + pass through the skin. that plant goodness is then transported throughout the body via the bloodstream. it’s quick + direct + effective. 😎
you can apply oils directly from the bottle—read the label to see if it needs to be diluted or not. it’s always safest to dilute more if you’re not sure. think of a carrier oil (fractionated coconut, v-6, avocado, jojoba, etc.) as a medium to distribute the oils evenly/lessen the intensity of potent oils like thieves + raven. if your skin says “whoa!” when using a new oil, just apply more carrier oil to bring it down a notch.
you can also whip up roller bottles which is fancy for pre-measured + pre-diluted oils that you can easily roll on when you need it. it’s kinda an obsession for me. if you haven’t made a roller yet, drop everything + go make one rn. chances are, you’ll need it soon anyway. best to be prepared. ✔️
USING YOUR OILS INTERNALLY
let’s talk about those white labeled oils—called vitality oils. those white labels mean that they are fda approved, safe to consume. it’s all the same, pure, amazing oil that you’re used to. which thank goodness, wouldn’t want anything else going into our bodies.
why ingest oils? it can be a quick way to ease bloat, boost your immune system, or give your metabolism a jump start. 🍋
there can be some controversy on whether or not ingesting oils is best—to that we say, do what you’re comfortable with. but know that,
👉🏼ONE, the 100% pure young living oils are the only oils you’ll want to add to your water. not all oils are the same, and that’s especially true when it comes to ingesting oils.
👉🏼TWO, essential oils are already used in common food items (like gum) already—you just don’t realize it.
👉🏼THREE, use common sense & follow the recommended amount on the label. it’s always smart to start with less when you’re introducing a new oil.
some ideas for ingesting oils:
+ add lemon or citrus fresh to water for a metabolism boost 🍋
+ put a drop of digize under your tongue to ease bloat
+ put a drop of peppermint on the roof of your mouth to ease a migraine
+ add thieves to your tea to boost your immune system
+ add oils to a veggie capsule for seasonal allergies
+ add yl’s new vitality drops to naturally flavor your water & boost it with electrolytes (lavender lemonade is delish 🤤)
...just the tip of the iceberg, friends.
