diy cloud dough

Over the weekend, Jack & I (mostly I) whipped up a batch of "cloud dough." Mamas, this stuff is so silky smooth--you'll want to keep it all to yourself, right along with your chocolate stash.

And of course, debatably the most important factor to any REALISTIC toddler activity is that it only requires TWO ingredients. That's right, two. And all the Mama's said amen.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED:

(click the links below to grab what you need on amazon prime)

+ 1 cup cornstarch (I didn't have enough cornstarch so I filled the rest with arrowroot powder)

+ 1/2 cup conditioner or lotion (I used YL's diluted Lavender Mint to amp up the smell factor--lavender, do yo thing)

+ totally optional but fun, food coloring

+ also totally optional but relaxing, fave essential oils (i.e. gentle baby, seedlings calm, lavender, valor, etc)

THEN DO THIS:

Combine cornstarch & conditioner in a bowl, gently combine so you don't throw cornstarch everywhere. You'll probably have to dive in with your hands and knead it until it forms into a soft dough.

And hey, that's it! You don't have to go any further & you will have scored a cool Mom card today.

But if you want to take it up a notch, knead in food coloring & essential oils. I broke up the batch into a few pieces and made a few colors/scents. Start by adding less, then add more as needed.

Play with it. Poke it. Break out the cookie cutters. It's so fun!

You'd think a two ingredient project wouldn't require that many photos, but man--I just couldn't stop snapping photos of those sweet, chubby hands. Keep scrolling through these pics to get to the cutest video of those hands at play.
